Sports and Physical Education student wins gold medal at international para-badminton competition

Daniel Chan clinches a gold medal at the Australia Para-Badminton International competition.
Mr. Daniel Chan Ho Yuen, a student of B.A. (Hons) in Physical Education & Recreation Management clinched a gold medal in the men’s singles at the Australia Para-Badminton International 2018. In a historic match, he beat the world number one, South Korean player Kim Jung-jun, in straight-sets.
Since his debut in 2010, Kim Jung-jun had won all his singles matches in international para-badminton, and as a result Daniel was extremely excited about his straight-sets victory in this competition. He said that he was well-prepared for the event and had the best performance on the court which enabled him to make this breakthrough. The result will also boost Daniel’s confidence as he works towards qualifying for the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
