2023.10.02 NzA4Ml8xNjk2MTUwNTg3XzU= 【The 19th Hangzhou Asian Games】HKBU congratulates Wong Tsz-to on winning the bronze medal in the Triathlon Mixed Relay at Asian Games [HKBU Press Release]  Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) congratulates its student Wong Tsz-to, a member of the Triathlon Team of Hong Kong, China, for his outstanding achievement on winning the bronze medal in the Triathlon Mixed Relay event at the Asian Games today (2 October).   Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, said: “Tsz-to performed with perseverance and outstanding strength in today’s competition, and demonstrated admirable team spirit together with his teammates. This achievement is a well-deserved reward for his continuous effort and pursuit of excellence. Kwan-ching, a member of the Windsurfing Team of Hong Kong, China, earned the silver medal in the Women’s Windsurfing – iQFoil event; Ka-long, a member of the Fencing Team of Hong Kong, China, won the bronze medal in the Men’s Foil Team event, which is the second medal he clinched at the Games. The University expresses its wholehearted congratulations to them.   Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, said: “Kwan-ching delivered a strong performance in the competition and demonstrated herself as a leading athlete in windsurfing in Asia. After clinching the championship in the personal event a couple of days ago, Ka-long won another medal in the team event, making this the best results of the Fencing Team of Hong Kong, China, in the Asian Games to-date. The HKBU community is excited and proud of their outstanding performance and remarkable achievements.”   Kwan-ching enrolled in HKBU through the Elite Athletes Admission Scheme, while Ka-long was enrolled through the Talented Athletes Direct Admission Scheme. Ngai Wai-yan, a member of the Windsurfing Team of Hong Kong, China, clinched the silver medal in the Women’s RS:X Windsurfing event, while Forrest Shanna Sanman, a member of the Rugby Team of Hong Kong, China, secured the bronze medal in Women’s Rugby Sevens. The University extends its heartfelt congratulations to them.   Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, is thrilled to see that HKBU students continue to record outstanding performances at the Asian Games: “Today is a fruitful day for HKBU student athletes at the Asian Games. Having received intense training for years, Wai-yan and Shanna have achieved breakthroughs and strived for good results in the sports arena. As students, they shine at international sport extravaganzas such as the Asian Games. With each game, he continued to learn and improve, ultimately achieving the grand slam of his fencing career.   Cheung Ka Long is a second-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Physical Education and Recreation Management. His victory fills us with pride and inspires us to pursue our goals. We eagerly anticipate his future success in the Asian Games fencing team competition.   (Photot Source: HK01, SF&OC)     2023.08.20 20230814_155945 [Fudan Tournament 2023] Congratulations to the women's basketball team for winning the Champion in the tournament Congratulations to the women's basketball team for winning the Champion title in the Fudan Tournament 2023, they have  won all 5 matches in the Tournament and beat the HKU team 55:53 in the final championship match.    The women's division has 7 teams from HK, 2 teams from Macau, 1 team from Taiwan and the Fudan team. We were honored to be invited again and achieved such a good result.
