2024.11.09 IMG-20241204-WA0043 The 65th HKBU Athletic Meet We are thrilled to share the highlights from the HKBU 65th Athletic Meet held on November 9th, 2024, where over 150 students showcased their athletic talents in a spirit of competition and camaraderie. A special congratulations goes to PERM student Chan Chun Ho (陳俊浩), who made history by breaking the Men's 400m record with an impressive time of 49.73 seconds. In addition to this outstanding feat, Chun Ho also made waves in the Men's 200m event, running a phenomenal time of 21.63 seconds to break yet another record. We would also like to congratulate Lau Kit Ying (劉潔瑩), who excelled in the javelin throw with a distance of 38.1 meters, setting a new record in that event as well. We are incredibly proud of all our athletes for their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship during the meet. These achievements highlight the exceptional talent within our school community. Cheung Ka-long and Lau Chi-lung, students of the Physical Education and Recreation Management programme, brought home a total of two gold and one silver medals.   Ka-long and Chi-lung, respectively a member of the Fencing Team and Wushu Team of Hong Kong, China, are among the 18 HKBU student athletes who participated in 28 events of the Games. Ka-long shined the stage by securing two gold medals in Men’s Foil Individual and Team events, while Chi-lung earned a silver medal in Men's Nanquan competition with his outstanding performance.   Colleagues from the Department of Sport, Physical Education and Health (SPEH) also contributed to the Games in different roles. Ms Assunta Ng, Lecturer of SPEH, was the coach of Hong Kong’s Badminton Team in the Games. She led the Team to scoop its first-ever bronze medal in the Men’s Single event.
