  • Social-environmental influences on children’s physical activity and sedentary behaviors
  • Longitudinal changes of these behaviors
  • Physical activity assessment using objective and subjective methods
  • Interventions to promote active lifestyle among children

Dr Huang’s research focuses on physical activity and sedentary behaviors, with a particular reference on understanding the multitude factors that influence such behaviors among children and youth. She is also involved in knowledge transfer projects on promotion of active lifestyle (e.g. as a co-leader of the Active Healthy Kids Hong Kong Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth). Dr Huang’s recent research was funded by General Research Fund (GRF) and Early Career Scheme (ECS). She obtained several scholarships and research fellowships, e.g. the Health and Medical Research Fund Research Fellowship Schemes (HMRF-RFS) from Food and Health Bureau, and Hong Kong - Scotland Partners in Post Doctoral Research from Research Grants Council, and Visiting Scholar of Deakin University.
