Prof. Duan Yanping is an Associate Professor at the Department of Sports and Health Sciences in Hong Kong Baptist University. Her research fields involve in health psychology and behavior medicine, with primary focuses on (1) exploring psycho-social, social-cultural, and environmental determinants of physical activity behavior and dietary behavior; (2) designing, implementing, and evaluating theory- and evidence-based physical exercise intervention programmes to enhance mental health among older adults as well as exploring the psychological, physiological and biological mechanisms of intervention effects. Prof. Duan has secured several external research funds as Principal Investigator in Hong Kong, including the General Research Fund (GRF), Germany/Hong Kong Joint Research Scheme, Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF) etc. She has published over 80 refereed articles in international journals. Prof. Duan is a Founding Executive Committee member of the Asia-Pacific Society for Physical Activity (ASPA) and Chair of the ASPA Asia Committee. She is the Associate Editor of Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being, the Associate Editor of Frontiers in Public Health, and the Associate Editor of Frontiers in Psychology.
