Important Notes

  1. Students are recommended to follow the study plan assigned to them by their major department in fulfilling requirements of University Core Healthy Lifestyle (UCHL) courses. In general, students are recommended to complete 2 units of UCHL by Year 2 of their studies.
  2. Students are expected to actively participate in all class sessions throughout the semester. Students who fail to attend classes without legitimate reasons and prior application risk failing the course.
  3. Students enrolled in UCHL courses offered by the Department of Sport and Physical Education (SPE) are advised to dress in appropriate sportswear in class. Students can consult individual instructors for more details.

Course Content

  • Lecture on nutrition and fundamental sports science in relation to softball and kickball.
  • Participation in selected physical fitness tests and interpretation of test results.
  • Log book writing on physical activities and nutritional considerations on health and outdoor games and exercise - Practice of skills, fundamental techniques, and game plays of softball and kickball.
  • Game appreciation – attending local level softball competitions and/or viewing high level competitions (softball and kickball) on the internet.

  • Describe and perform basic skills and movements of softball and kickball.
