Programme
Programme Aims and Objectives
The Sports Science Major provides advanced knowledge and practical skills for planning, designing and managing sports and exercise initiatives. It fosters a deep understanding of how scientific and technological advances inform exercise, performance, rehabilitation and community well‑being, and prepares students to apply evidence‑based practice in coaching, performance support and health‑related roles. Through interdisciplinary training across the biological, medical and data sciences, students will be equipped to design and conduct rigorous multidisciplinary research and to lead innovation in sports technology and wearable solutions.
Programme Focus
The Sports Science Major offers transdisciplinary training that integrates traditional sports and exercise science with biology, Chinese medicine, computer science and related fields, encouraging science‑minded students to apply core knowledge to exercise, performance and health. Emphasis is placed on hands‑on laboratory and field experiences, with placement and collaboration opportunities in local and regional sports and innovation hubs. Students will learn practical skills in performance practice, recovery and injury prevention, and will use sport and exercise as platforms to study anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and applied intervention design. Instruction in wearable testing and data‑guided program design enables personalized approaches to training and recovery.
